The first installation of the series came in 2002. It introduced us to the one and only Sly Cooper and delved into his backstory. Stating that his parents had been killed by the Fiendish Five and their leader Clockwerk, and they stole the Thievius Raccoonus. Which was the ultimate guide on how to become a great thief and the art of stealing from criminals, and it was also held the family legacy for the Cooper Clan. This situation resulted in Sly getting sent to an orphanage, it was at this orphanage where he would meet his two best friends, Bentley and Murray, and form the Cooper Gang. The game begins with Sly stealing his own police report while fleeing from Carmelita so that he could figure out more about the Fiendish Five and where to start on his path to take back the Thievius Raccoonus and his family legacy. After traveling across the world and defeating each of the other four members of the Fiendish Five (Raleigh, Muggshot, Mz. Ruby, Panda King), Sly was able to confront his bloodline’s ultimate nemesis, and take him down with Carmelita working as a surprising ally.
